The Commercial Television Associates was formed to develop opportunities for commercial TV broadcasting in the new era and to respond to the challenges faced by  existing channels.

These objectives fall mainly within the following categories:-

1) Involvement with broadcasters whose TV media marketing strategy is flawed and whose revenue, in consequence,  falls well short of attainable levels.

2) Innovatory initiatives designed to respond to the fragmenting of audiences and its affect on the efficiency and  value of advertisers investment in television advertising.

3) The international opportunities for national broadcasters and program producers.

4) The increasing number of TV channels and multi channel ownership.

5) The development of complimentary businesses.

Its founders Mike Yershon and Jim Shaw have unsurpassed experience, knowledge and expertise in regard to the commercial aspects of television. They have been responsible both jointly and individually for a number of major commercial initiatives in broadcasting, the marketing of commercial airtime, media planning and buying.

It was Jim who, for example, first identified and successfully acted on the relationship between macro economic factors and the price of TV airtime. Numerous research papers have subsequently been written in support of his prognostications. He of course also founded SKY Satellite TV and developed the worlds first 'real time, on line, interactive, computerised airtime sales system'.

Mike has been at the leading edge of media buying and planning as the Senior Director responsible for media at a number of major Advertising Agencies and the founder of of seminal companies concerned with the optimising of advertisers investment in media especially television. He founded both Media Assessment Ltd and developed sophisticated computer systems, providing accurate, and immediately available, analyses of advertisers campaigns.
